Edward Kennedy dies

2025-01-22

First elected Senator in 1962 when his brother was president, he served third longest in US history. In 1969 marked by Chappaquiddick incident, an auto accident that left a young woman dead.

His death Tuesday comes just weeks after that of his sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver. Diagnosed with cancerous brain tumor in 2008.
